What's in a name?

After some extensive brainstorming sessions, careful deliberation and a democratic (and unanimous!) vote, we have decided on our group name! From this day forward, we shall be called
THE PARTY PENGUINS!

Hungry Hungry Hippos!

On a super hot day we went inside and played board games at Snakes and Lattes. They have over a thousand games to choose from and a great selection of kids games to boot.

We made a chalk mural on the sidewalk beside the park. Of course there were a lot of hockey references (go Canucks!) within the images...

It's starting to warm up. Spring is here! That also means lots of rain... not so fun. We take the good days as they come, and on the bad days we make the best of it. Here's what we've been up to lately:

This week we baked brownies with a secret ingredient....

Black beans! Great way to make brownies healthy and low fat, high fibre. They (well all but one) loved them!

Zine Dream!

 This week we focussed on making our very own DIY magazine (zine). On Monday we spent the afternoon researching magazines, seeing what we liked about them and thinking about what we wanted to contribute. On Tuesday we drew comics and drawings together and even made our own version of Spy Vs Spy.

On Wednesday we cut up some kids magazines and collaged them for the cover, and drew some more comics. After pick up I photocopied it all and handed it out to the kids on Thursday.
